[edit] Starter Pokémon
After you get done with registration, you will have your first Pokémon. This is called a starter Pokémon.
[edit] Catching Other Pokémon
To start catching other Pokémon, go to the Maps drop-down bar and click on one of the maps. Click the arrows at the right to move around. If you check the box that says 'Enable Keyboard Navigation', you may use your arrow keys to move around. However, you are more likely to move faster and therefore skip some Pokémon. When you see a Pokémon, click the 'Try To Catch It' button and start attacking it with your Pokémon's attacks. When it has a low amount of HP left, scroll down and use a Pokéball. If you use a Master Ball, the Pokémon will be caught guaranteed, regardless of how much HP it has.
[edit] Legends
In order to get legendary Pokémon, you must defeat all of the gyms and Elite Four members of the region that legendary belongs to. For example: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mew and Mewtwo will start appearing on the maps when all of the gyms and Elite Four members of the Kanto region are defeated. However, legendary Pokémon of other regions will not appear until all of that region's gyms and Elite Four are defeated.
[edit] Training
To raise your Pokémon faster, try beating gyms that your Pokémon has an advantage against.
Experience gained from a battle depend on a number of factors such as:
- Level of your opponent's Pokémon
- Level of your participating Pokémon
Note that gyms give out more experience and money than a computer battle.
[edit] Items
Items let you catch and heal your Pokémon. Buy all of your items by clicking on the link that says PokéMart. To get money to buy these items, you must defeat wild Pokémon or other trainers and gyms. Note that ALL of your Pokémon automatically heal after every battle.
